CEO Message – Financial Year End 2020

A letter to our valued donors, sponsors, staff and volunteers

We trust that you all are safe and healthy wherever you are at the moment.

We want to thank our valued donors, sponsors, partners, staff and volunteers for their continued financial support, generosity and great efforts in helping Australia Oikos Care succeed to date.

This has been a challenging year for all of us, and our hearts go out to everyone affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. We have been monitoring this situation closely, and we strive to comply with guidance and regulations from government and public health authorities. Our teams in Australia have been working and keeping in touch with our school teams in Indonesia. We are grateful that we all are safe and healthy. Our teachers and students have been teaching and learning from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our students have continually carried on their learning activities by studying from home arranged and followed up by our teachers. The safety, health and well-being of our teachers, students, staff and their families is our number one priority.

In the coming financial year, through our 5 schools in Bekasi, Batam and Bali Indonesia, we will continue our school programs being PAUD (Kindergarten class), Paket A (Primary), Paket B (Secondary) and Paket C (High School) in line with the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture guidance and regulations. Additionally, depending on funding condition, we will start vocational training in information technology and digital e-commerce programs to equip and train Paket C students to further their studies at universities or to find job opportunities upon their graduation.

We will work alongside all the teams involved and our objectives for 2020/2021 are to continue the strength of our organization business and creating lasting school initiatives. We remain focused, passionate and determined to provide a quality education that will impact change. We look forward to a healthy and fruitful financial year ahead, helping our students and community to transform their lives and making their life better. God bless.

Yours sincerely,

Dharma Sutedja

Where children live and study has an effect on their lives, therefore this is even more important to help give our school children the best start in life, in terms of good learning environment and academic improvement.

Australia Oikos Care has fully funded the school renovation of Efata Bali School classrooms and facilities recently. When we undertook the Efata Bali school renovation project and upgraded the existing building, we want to ensure it will not only enhance school facilities but also students academic performance.

We believe the completed school renovation has multiple benefits such as better learning environment and atmosphere, increasing students focus and attention, improving students academic results, and good mental health for the teachers and students.

Thank you very much for your generous donation and continued support in making this happen. We can make a big difference.

It’s exciting and very encouraging to see our Alpha Omega School students in Indonesia diligently and enthusiastically continue studying from home. They are closely monitored by their parents and our teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic stay-at-home regulations.

All our Alpha Omega School teachers are continuously keeping in touch with their parents to make sure that their children are safe, healthy and continuously studying in this extremely challenging time of the pandemic.

We pray that all of our donors, sponsors, partners, volunteers, the management & staff, teachers and students are safe and in good health.

Australia Oikos Care and New Life Foundation Queensland have jointly established and started to provide Paket B (Secondary School) and Paket C (High School) educational programs for young adults to further their studies that will change outcomes and positively impact their continuing efforts to pursue their higher studies. Together, we are continuing to provide funding to implement our school developments over the next three years thanks to the support of people like you.

Our dedicated management team and volunteers and staff have made a very special effort every day of the year, helping our organisation and schools get better and better, making sure all children have access to the best possible education wherever they live and receive the care and support they need.

CEO Message, 1st November 2019

Making Life Better, Transforming Life and Shaping the Future of Children & Communities.

By God’s grace, it has been a fruitful and exciting year for Australia Oikos Care (AOC) for the entire year of our blessed journey, great efforts and dedication in making AOC grow and prosper.

May we take this wonderful moment to thank all donors, sponsors, partners, teams and volunteers very much for their tremendous support, donation, generosity and kindnesses. It’s the time to recognize the progress and results that we have made this year. It can be a continuing powerful motivator for AOC to think about opportunities to expand and contribute in the years ahead.

Our Alfa Omega Schools in Bantargebang, Marunda, R12 Depok and Batam, as well as 3 other schools that we have given support in Indonesia, have been operating successfully this year.

As we have continued our efforts and work together with our partners in Indonesia to expand our schools, we have recently entered and signed a new partnership with Efata Bali Foundation in October 2019. We will help Efata AOC Bali School renovate and upgrade their school buildings and classrooms in December 2019 as they have 43 students. This has truly marked our continuing best efforts and dedication to geographically expand our schools to other provinces in Indonesia, Making life better, transforming lives and shaping the future of children and communities.

As we started the year, we had 29 teachers and more than 320 students studying and learning at our schools. Today, AOC operates 5 main schools and 3 other schools and has 425 students including Paket A, B & C (Primary to High School) programs, a robust growth of 34% over the start of the year. This achievement would not have been possible without your continued support, donation, sponsorship and generosity as well as all the teams, staff and volunteers involved who have worked tirelessly throughout the year in Indonesia and Australia.

We have been blessed to have dedicated board, management team, staff, teachers and volunteers helping our schools and students to continue to flourish in Indonesia.
We wish our schools in Indonesia great success in their future endeavours. God bless.

Official Opening of Alfa Omega School Batam

Official Opening of Alfa Omega School Batam

By the grace of God, we are so delighted to share with you all the joyous moment of the opening of Alfa Omega School Building in Batam and the official launching of the new pre-school program for children on 25th July 2019. This memorable occasion will allow Alfa Omega School Batam to start providing classes and programs and at the same time look to the future of providing the children with continuous quality education and learning process that they truly deserve.

Education is a life-long pursuit for all our young children. The newly renovated building, classrooms and hall of the building block provides new facilities and a much-improved learning environment for boys and girls of Alfa Omega School Batam. We can imagine how excited teachers and students are as they have started the new school.

We are increasingly aware of the interaction between physical spaces and learning environment as well as a learning culture. It is not the building alone but It is the human spirit and good interaction between teachers and students which will make the difference for its future success.

God bless Alfa Omega School Batam.

July 2019 – CEO Message

Transforming Life and Making Life Better!

With deep appreciation and gratitude, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our valued donors, sponsors, partners, stakeholders and volunteers for their continued efforts, financial support, generosity and loyalty in helping and making Australia Oikos Care succeed in its mission to date.

We have been working untiringly and hand-in-hand with all the teams and volunteers involved to achieve our vision, mission and objectives. We have had a fruitful year and our long-term organizational objectives for 2019 through to 2022 have been developed to continue the good health of our organization business. Good online platforms capable of delivering targeted fundraising results are currently operating well. Also, we have teamed up in a partnership and collaboration with New Life Foundation Australia successfully.

AOC through YCARE Indonesia has started a study program called PACE (Program for Able Children and Education) where we have, in addition to Package A (Primary School) program, started Package B (Secondary School) and Package C (High School) programs as well at our school for the years 2019 to 2022. A new pre-school in Batam (Alfa Omega School Batam) has been established and the new school would commence their activities in mid July 2019. As part of our geographical expansion to reach out to many more children in Indonesia, we have identified a potential school project located in Bali. We hope to help funding and partnering with this school in Bali before the end of 2019.

We remain focused on the strategies we have in place to realize our vision. We are passionate and determined to become a game changer in quality education and empowerment to equip and provide ample opportunities to disadvantaged children and young people in Indonesia. Our focus is on creating lasting school initiatives that will impact change 5 and 10 years into the future.

We all look forward to expanding our schools and community development in the years ahead to transforming lives and making life better and shaping the future of children.

Yours sincerely,

Dharma Sutedja
